We caught up with Feyikemi Ojewumi, the CEO of BESTY FOODIES VENTURES, makers of BESTY BEANS FLOUR. This CEO discovered that there was a waiting market for her and she took the plunge without looking back. She excitedly shared details of how she started her own business.

What is your educational background?: I have B.SC in Business Administration.
Any prior work experience? : I worked as an Administration Officer in Wema Registrars Limited, a subsidiary of Wema Bank Plc. I later moved on to become a Transaction Officer with the bank. All this was between the years 2006 to 2015.
Tell us about your product?: BESTY BEANS FLOUR is made out of beans. It can be used for moin moin, akara, ekuru and every other thing you can do with grinded beans. It’s very easy to use, it saves time and it’s also cost effective.
What is the inspiration behind your business?: I found out that there was a gap that needed to be filled. It was difficult to get beans flour let alone one with good quality and so I decided to go into production of quality beans flour. You will find that it is incomparable with the few ones out there. As the name implies, it is just the best in terms of quality.
Did you get a formal training before starting this journey?: Not really. I just put my initiatives together and it worked. I still would like to be trained though.
What difficulties did you face starting up? :The major challenge I had was the process of trying to adopt the best materials needed, so I had to try different materials before I finally got the best. And you know, it was at a cost.
How rewarding has it been?: Thanks to God, it has been highly rewarding as I record progress on daily basis.
Long term vision?: Besty will become a household name.
Would you like to tell us your initial start up capital? :One Hundred and Tweny Thousand Naira ( N120,000)
What excites you the most about your business?: Most exciting thing about it is the way I advertise my product on social media because I do the modelling myself.
Advise for entrepreneurs wanting to tow your line of business?: They should have passion for it and be focused.
